Still
to come :
BUY
MY STUFF!
Various people have asked me whether any of the
material that's showcased on this site is available either on a CD
or as paid downloads. The answer is that so far,
neither has been the case, but hopefully that will soon
change. The exact details have yet to be worked
out, but at some point during the course of the coming few
months, it's my intention to produce a CD containing my solo
material and a selection of the band material mentioned below.
The tracks may or may not also be made available as individual paid
downloads; more information will appear as and when the
finer points have been worked out, but one way or another,
the material will certainly be available for those of you who want
to buy it. As regards the material in the 'Covered
Up' project, obviously there are copyright issues to
be dealt with before any of this material could be released
commercially, and that's likely to be a longer process,
given the fairly wide variety of sources from which the material has
been drawn. Ideally, I'm hoping to release
'Covered Up' as an album in it's
own right, but only time and a lot of people giving their
permission will make this possible; for the time being,
the material will be restricted to the relevant page of this
website, but once again more information will appear here as
and when I have it. So, to the many of you who have
asked ( and the number has roughly tripled since I've had the
MySpace site as well ! ), thanks again for your ongoing
support, and I'll notify you all as soon as the stuff becomes
commercially available. "Choices"
This is the novel mentioned on the
About Me page. When I first started writing this, back in
November 2002, I thought it would probably end up being about 200
pages, maybe 250 at most. How wrong can you
be? I finally finished writing the first draft in
August 2006, and it ended up being 639 sides of A4 10-point
font. For anyone interested in the statistics,
that's somewhere in the region of 525,000 words. So, if
you’re looking for the War And Peace of what the publishers tell me
would be classified as “romantic comedy drama”, this is the place
to come.
As I say, August 2006 saw
the end of the first draft, but the job is by no means done
yet. There's at least one re-write to be done,
possibly two; there's also a ream of research still to
do, all of which means that the final draft isn't likely to be
done for a little while yet. I'm hoping it will be
before the end of the year, but it being the case that every
prediction I've made so far about how long the book will take to
finish has been wide of the mark, I'm not about to make any
rash promises. When the necessary re-write(s) are
done, the first
sample chapter will appear on the website. Depending on feedback
from publishers, along with this, there will either be an option
to purchase a hard-copy of the book, an option to purchase an
e-copy of the book, or an option to purchase individual chapters
one at a time, depending on what seems to be most economically
viable. More information will appear nearer the time : watch
this space, as they say.
BAND
MATERIAL
In due course, I'll be adding
some of the material recorded by the most recent band I was in
( see Bands ).
These will all be songs that were written by the other band
members ( as opposed to material that I wrote myself,
which you can listen to on the All
My Own Work page ). Not all of the material
that we played as a band was recorded, but most of it was,
and when I can get around to converting it all to mp3's, I'll
add it to the site. At the time of writing,
due to numerous and ongoing hiccups with the computer, this is
not happening quite as fast as I'd have liked ( ! ) but hopefully this should be by the
summer of 2007.
COLLABORATIONS
Over the space of time since the
last band broke up, whilst recording my own material and the Covered
Up project, I've helped my old friends Ken Oldfield and Andy
Titmas, the singer and bassist respectively from Cannon,
the first serious band I was in, to record and produce some of
their own songs. Once again, as and when time
permits, I'll convert these to mp3's and add them to the site.
In the meantime, if you want to check either of them out on
MySpace, you can go to either
Andy's site or
Ken's site. |
